3 new healthy habits that I started...

Health is a Gift and we realize its importance as we grow old. I have added 3 simple routines to my daily life and I hope these can make a big difference to anyone who embraces them.

Green Tea:
I have started taking green tea a long time back but couldn't stick to it. I started it again and my target is to drink green tea at least twice a day. I cannot drink it bitter, so I am adding honey to it. Tetley and Twinings have a lot of flavors and my favorite one is honey and lemon flavor.

We all know that Green tea has a lot of benefits due to its antioxidants and nutrients.

Overnight oats:

Inspired by fellow bloggers Mayuri and Vidya, I have started eating oats soaked overnight. It is not only tasty but healthy breakfast. I am layering oats in a jar with milk, Greek yogurt and berries/cherries. I keep this in the refrigerator for a night and eat it the next day as breakfast with any fruit like blueberries, strawberries or banana slices. The Greek yogurt I use is flavored with peaches/ cherries/ berries and is sweet. So, No need to add sugar/ honey.

40 min exercise rule:
It becomes difficult with kids and family responsibilities to spend even 1 hour on exercise. So, I chose the simple form of exercise like walking for at least 40 mins a day. I plan to start aerobics work out in the evenings at least for 30 mins and replace walking with jogging in the future. Not sure how long I can continue but decided to make this rule a part of my life from now on.

  1. Simple and good habits. Over a year and a half ago, I began to practice a similar routine (passion mango tea, quick cooking old-fashioned oats, and 30-60 minutes of exercise) each day. My body and mind feel so much better.

  2. That's a thoughtful qoute Ramya...I too believe that change can only be implemented if practiced daily. Few changes I am implementing these days- Routine exercise for my cervical(10 ins), writing gratitude Pie and looking for weight gaining food for myself and toddler. Thanks for linking up with #QuotedStories

  4. Love your post. Initiating and following a routine is itself a great challenge. That too practicing it with good habits makes it an accomplishment. I love the 40 min walk habit which I am trying to implement. I hope soon I will get on track with the daily walking habit.

  6. I did try green and grey tea but can't make it regularly. I do yoga thrice a week for 20 minutes and it's helpful. I always look to attend my class once a week and have such an amazing Guru. A post with a difference to make one healthy. Super like:)
