Though it is late, I cannot miss counting my blessings for December.
So, quickly on to my Gratitude List.
1. Dance classes
I never thought that I would teach dance when I learned it. I always thought I would become a professional dancer and perform which I did my whole life till now. I think it is time to take the next step and pass on what I have learned to my next generation. I am very grateful to my Dance teacher Ms. Parvathi Ramachandran for training me with patience.
My Dance classes have picked up from December and I am looking forward to focussing on teaching this year as well.
2. New friends
As we grow older and matured, It is difficult to find good friends. Did you observe? In this new place and new country, I took time to make friendships (Not a hi, bye type but helping each other type). This month and the last month, I have met many people and made new friends - I would say, good friends. I am grateful for this.
3. Zentangle
I tried a new art inspired by my fellow bloggers Raji and Shilpa. This art is different from others as the sky is the only limit to creativity. No two persons can draw the same as everyone thinks differently. It is very relaxing to my mind to draw Zentangles. I might have bored my Instagram and Facebook followers with some initial drawings and I am sorry for that. You know, it's the excitement after all when we start a new hobby :-)
4. Books
I got some time to read good books this month. I enjoyed reading 'Empire' by Devi Yesodharan which is an inspiring Historical fiction. 'Destined' by Rubina is a Romance with a nice concept. Mama Graciela's Secret is a Children's story with moral. Black Peppers is a thriller set in 1700 AD in Kerala. Karna's Celestial Armour is a Mythological Fiction. I am grateful for the opportunity to read many genres and different stories.
5. More time with Kids
Even though it was tough being a judge most of the time when my both sons fight for every small thing, I survived their Christmas holidays. We read some good books, did some crafts together and also did some drawings. We watched some movies too.
My elder one's school will re-open day after tomorrow and I don't want to wake up early again for his school :-( Enjoyed good sleep till 8 am in the mornings in these holidays :-)
So, that was from my side. I hope, you had a great celebration welcoming the new year. Cheer up and Enjoy the coming days :-)

Though we never really celebrated Christmas, My dad's best friends always invited us over Plum cake & Christmas carols were a big part of my growing up.

Haven't read about the rule that it's mandatory to have spouse's name on passport. No idea about this. We had both of the names in the passport, so this question didn't arise.

ReplyDeleteOh no!! This place seems to be a fleecing ground. These days visiting well known places of worship and maintaining your sanity is getting more difficult than visiting a mall.
ReplyDeleteI visited Kemp Fort when I came to Bangalore 10 years back. Loved it that time. There were no tickets then, no frustrating queues and the experience was wonderful. But an year later when I went again, i was disappointed. 8 years on- I haven't visited again and your post tells me that things have gone from bad to worse.

ReplyDeleteya Nikhil you are right. Angel of the dark is not a direct book from sidney. This is the recent book that i read from Sidney. Earlier books were very good, but as I mentioned, it's difficult to pick one or 2 from his books. All seem like unique in their storyline/ charcaterization. Thanks for dropping by :)

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a worthy cause! My own county in Kentucky is one of the poorer ones in the state (many farming families). Luckily, there is a good low or no pay option for breakfast and lunch for school children. It is so important for them to have adequate nutrition in order to do well in school. Looking forward to reading more of your challenge posts!

ReplyDeleteI would have mentioned that Vidya Sury, will edit my post to add details about it. I know, how difficult it is if stuck at that stage. For my reissue of passport, it was in police verification stage for a long duration and I had to follow up with police station many times. But, these days, Enquiry officer is calling up ahead before coming for verification, they don't want to miss the bribe :p.

ReplyDeleteFelt nostalgic a bit reading the post, wonderfully crafted. Strangely enough those days when there was just one or two channels with limited options to watch for, watching TV was so much a fun. But now, though there are innumerable channels showing whatever you wish to watch...the joy of those yesteryears is missing !!!
