Why Wishful thinking seems good to me? #BARaThon - Day #6

Writing this for #BARaThon Challenge by Blog-a-rhythm.
Day #6 prompt - Wishful thinking

Honestly, I didn't know this word until I researched for the prompt.

From Wiki, Wishful thinking is..

"The formation of beliefs and making decisions according to what might be pleasing to imagine instead of by appealing to evidence, rationality, or reality. It is a product of resolving conflicts between belief and desire."

To make it simple, it is our belief that something would happen which is pleasing to us even though there is no logic or proof of it. Thinking in terms of what you would like to happen instead of thinking based on facts. Hey, Does it sound like 'HOPE'?

As an example, let's say

We are going through bad days and we hope things will better in future even though we are currently stuck in huge financial debts.

We live with the hope of better days in future. If a person doesn't hope for good, when he is going through bad days, he might become depressed.

Our parents always wanted us to be in better position than themselves and we also think the same for our kids. Even though we don't have any evidence that our kids would become good, we try to inculcate good habits in them.

Another example of Wishful thinking

I do good to others expecting the same from others

In this case, there is no guarantee that people will reciprocate your goodness and if we do good, it's better to do without any expectation. Since there are different kinds of people in this world -good, bad, childish, matured etc.,and everyone is unique, we cannot predict if they understand our goodness and be nice to us.

But, this hope isn't that bad right? We help someone on the road in an accident and who knows we might be in the same situation later. Sometimes, this is also one motivation to help others, to make others happy, to be kind and to make our country/ society a peaceful place. What do you say?

Is it good to have wishful thinking sometimes? Or Am I missing something here in my thought process? Please do share your opinion in comments.

Until next time,

Thief of my heart - Drabble week - Day 6

Days passed, years passed, they like each other's company
there is still attraction  between them even after 6 years of their married life
He told her, 'you are thief of my heart',
She teased him saying, 'heart can't be stolen, don't be silly',
while smiling to herself and thanking God for her love and luck.
