When Mistaken Identity collides with Secret Identity, who wins?
JACOB HAS COME A LONG WAY FOR AN ORPHANED KID. He has a mentor, a great job, and has finally fallen in love. Granted, she mistook him for a stalker when they met, but every relationship has its little problems. Unfortunately, for the past few years, as the object of his affection pops in and out of his life, she has refused to share any personal info, like where she’s from…or her real name. Regardless, Jacob is ready to take their relationship to the next level. Now, if only he can locate her so he can tell her.

CASEY’S FAMILY IS IN THE WITNESS PROTECTION program. Safety has to be their only priority. Their cover has been blown before, so Casey knows at any given time they could be forced to disappear again. Obviously, a shy young man with hopeful eyes cannot possibly be added to the mix. Now, if only she can stop thinking about him.

JACOB’S AND CASEY’S WORLDS UNEXPECTEDLY COLLIDE when Jacob inadvertently helps hide her family. Exposed to their 24/7 vigilance, Jacob realizes he must come up with a plan to keep them out of harm’s way, because this time if Casey disappears, she will be taking with her Jacob’s heart, and his hopes of finally having a family of his own.

My Review:

This is my first book of this genre - A romantic suspense. This is the story of Jacob, an orphan, and Casey who is in witness protection program. Casey had to give preference to her safety than her love life due to her circumstances. Jacob and Casey meet unexpectedly and it is love at first sight. Casey is a mystery girl and doesn't give any of her details to Jacob even after many meetings but is in love with Jacob. An accident gives them a chance to meet again, but will Casey run away from Jacob again?

My favourite part of the book is the suspense. The story is revealed slowly as we move, letting us know each character and their purpose. The story is narrated in the perspective of the old man William, Casey and Jacob. The mystery is maintained till 3/4th of the book on why Casey always runs away from Jacob leaving him clueless. The writing style is cool and casual. The characterization is deep enough for the readers to understand the layers of characters. I loved the gentle romance between Jacob and Casey, liked the way Jacob is protective about Casey and tries to keep her safe. I loved the way Jacob prefers Casey's safety to his love. I also loved the characterization of Hanson and Maggie. Even though the ending is predictable, the author puts together all loose ends in the climax.

I expected more romance but was disappointed. The story is medium paced and not boring. The title and cover are apt. I would recommend this to suspense lovers who also like a light read.

My Rating: 3.5/5

Ps: I have received this book in exchange for an honest review and this is my unbiased opinion on the book.
