My Review:

This is about the little fox Lenny. She ventures out beyond the meadow to explore for a day-long adventure. She meets a wise Owl, a squirrel, and a bunny.

There are some good life lessons and skills to learn from her new friends for Lenny.

What do I like about the book?

The cute and lively pictures—wow, the expressions on faces are so clear—the innocent but brave Lenny, the silly squirrel, and the cute bunny. The illustrations and the pastel colors are a big plus for this book.

I love that the story imbues the importance of making new relationships and helping strangers.

Lenny is not only a curious fox but also transparent and helpful to others. This book is perfect for bedtime reading and is good for little kids up to 4 years age.

The title is apt, and the book cover is very nice.

My Rating: 5/5

My Review:

In this picture book, a fly called Flyboy is disappointed that no one respects him and tries to harm him, even though flies help pollinate flowers. His mom sends him to different insects, birds, and creatures to ask their advice.

This is a good story for little kids to teach them about the different kinds of creatures on the Earth, how they each contribute to mother nature, and how removing any species is not good overall.

The pictures are adorable, and the colors are so bright. Kids will love watching them.

I love that they also talk about the balance of nature and how every creature helps with this.

The last poem might be too hard for kids to understand, but overall, it's an interesting plot.

The book cover is gorgeous, and the title is ok.

My Rating: 5/5

My Review:

I am not a fan of poetry books usually. But these poems are so good. I could relate to them, laugh about the silliness, and enjoy reading them.

This book is full of hilarious poems and beautiful pictures. I love the art. The pictures of the boy are very real and the boy looks as naughty as the poems sound.

The poems are about everything in daily life - experiences of children, nature, daily tasks etc., They rhyme and are simple to follow. They are easy to read and fun both for kids and adults. My younger one who is in 3rd grade thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I suggest, you read these poems with your kids a few in a day to enjoy the meaning. It becomes a good bed time read.

Every poem has a great illustration, which helps with imagination. I love that the illustrations are simple, but they show emotions well.

I would rate this book all the stars it can have and I recommend it as a fun vacation read or bed time read with kids.

My Review:

Dr.Marsha and the case of the missing Hot dogs.. is a humorous book with a message behind it.  This reminds me of Dr.Seuss's books for rhyming and musical words.

There are many sentences with funny comparisons like Canada and Mexico are like the bread in a sandwich and the US is the filling.

I enjoyed reading the book and the conversations between Dr.Marsha and Terence Toad.

Dr.Marsha, Terence, and Louie have to travel to Washington to find the mystery of missing Hot dogs and marshmallows. The mysterious log cabin seen from the window seems to have some clue.

Atlast, they could solve the case and return to Australia while we learn more about the food pyramid and healthy snacks.

The story and characters are entertaining for 4 to 11-year-olds as well as give them an introduction of healthy foods to consume.

My Rating: 4/5

PS: I have received this book from iread book tours in exchange for an honest review and this is my personal opinion on the book.

My Review:

This is not like other Children's Picturebooks. The story teaches some basic manners like table manners and how to help family with chores etc., through the character Forkman.

This book has 2 chapters inside. The first chapter walks through the steps to load the dishwasher and help parents. The second chapter teaches some important table manners.

My 6yr old loved the illustrations and tone. He learned how to load the dishwasher. He loved the funny names used in the book like Forkman, Clara cup, Spoondude, and knifeguy.

The illustrations are so cute. Especially the expressions of Forkman came out well and interesting.

I would highly recommend this book to children from 3 to 7 years old. The book cover is perfect and the title 'What's That Noise?' is funny and apt.

My Rating: 5/5

PS: I have received this book through iread book tours in exchange for a review and this is my honest opinion of the book.

Meet the Authors:

Tiffany Caldwell: I have worked with children for over thirteen years and every year basic manners become less evident. When I was growing up, my sisters and I took etiquette classes during the summer while we visited our grandparents. Etiquette was always a big part of our upbringing. When we would have our family dinners, my dad, W.R. MacKenzie, would make our utensils come to life as we were eating. Forkman became a part of our dinner routine! I am a mother of three great kids and military wife to my hero. A few years ago, I told my dad we needed to start writing our story. We are so excited to share Forkman with the world!

W.R. MacKenzie: I spent thirty-nine years in the bakery business. After I retired and my four children were grown, I felt it was time to share the importance of the family meal with the world. The Adventures of Forkman teaches children how to properly conduct themselves at the table. Our books are filled with characters all children can relate with and I believe Forkman and his crew will help children of all ages learn manners and table etiquette.

My Review:

Nomit and Pickle is such a cute story of a brother and sister. As we can guess, both love each other but fight with one another.

While Nomit calls her sister multiple times to get ready, Pickle enjoys her bike ready, gets ready slowly, and even goes back to fetch her purse while her brother is waiting.

They go shopping and there is nothing left other than Pizza which Nomit hates. Mmm... Poor Nomit. Did he compromise? What her little sister do to please his brother? You have to read to know the answers.

What I liked?

I loved the illustrations. Pickle is so cute with her hair tied up. The font in the book is very nice. It's pleasant.

I loved that it has a beautiful message at the end of the book.
The concept and narrative are good for children. I would recommend this to 2 to 5 yr olds. They will definitely enjoy listening to the story.

My Rating:

Of course, 5/5 :-)

Author Information

CE Cameron is very much a family person. Nomit and Pickle have been created through observing and being part of the trials and tribulations of family life, growing up & the brother / sister relationship. The stories take you through various experiences as well as day to day challenges - even when it comes to the simple, daily tasks! She loves family, food and animals and lots of exploring. The characters have lots of adventures coming up, including little challenges, which could go wrong & generally do! There is a ‘thought for the day’ at the end of every adventure. CE Cameron is a private person who loves nature and believes the most important thing in life is family. She hopes the Nomit and Pickle Adventures will be great to read as a bed time story and for children seeing a positive at the end of any challenge!

Mummy Wears Blue Shoes By Scott Furlong - [Book Review]

 Summary:

Emily is five-years-old. She wears pink ballerina shoes and wants to be a ballerina when she grows up.

Emily’s mummy and daddy are both special police officers called detectives. Lately, Emily has noticed that her mummy hasn’t been spending time with her. She has stopped taking her to dancing lessons and her older brother, Jackson, to his rugby lessons. One night, Emily sees her mummy crying on the sofa being comforted by her daddy. At a family meeting Emily learns that her mummy is poorly with something that the doctor calls Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Mummy Wears Blue Shoes is a heart-warming story about a family who are living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It is a story written about a family, for families by a family, by author Scott Furlong with illustrated by his cousin Emma Cahill.

My Review:

This is a lovely picture book for kids to make them understand PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). Sometimes, when elders in the family undergo some health problems which impact other members, it's tough for kids to understand. It's always good to explain them in simple terms instead of allowing them to assume things and become scared.

Emily loves ballerina and baking with her mom. When mom's behavior changes due to PTSD, she couldn't understand the reason. Emily's dad explains in simple terms and she does something to make her mom happy.

It's cute to know how kids react when their loved ones are suffering from a problem. The illustrations are great. But, I felt the story ends abruptly without mentioning the reaction from Emily's mom. Except for this, I loved the book.

My Rating: 4/5
