Garden of the Gods is a natural landmark and a public park in Colorado springs, CO in US. The place is famous for its' natural rock formations.
The rock formations are the ancient sedementary beds of white sandstones, conglomerates and limestone formed horizontally, which are later tilted to vertical formations by the uplift of rocky mountains and pikes peak massif.

The place was known as red rock coral. As per wiki, a surveyor Rofus was awestruck by rock formations and called it as Garden of the Gods.
